Blogger Ndiangui Kinyagia has been summoned to the The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over his alleged links to the recent anti-government protests.
The summon comes barely hours after he he resurfaced in court ending weeks of speculation over his whereabouts that caused rage among Kenyans who have been calling for an end to abductions.
The National Police Service(NPS) dismissed allegations that Ndiangui Kinyagia had been abducted but accused him of staging his own abduction so as to cause panic among members of the public.

“Ndiangui Kinyagia was not in police custody. He remains a person of interest in connection to recent anti-government protests.
We caution against false claims of abduction, which cause unnecessary panic, undermine public confidence, and constitute criminal conduct under Kenyan law.” they said
Kinyagia went missing from his home after he was allegedly taken away by armed men using unmarked vehicles as revealed by his neighbours.
His news saw the Law Society of Kenya file a habeas corpus as the High Court ordered the Inspector General of Police to produce him in court.
The family lawyer Wahome Thuku revealed that the blogger contacted the family on Tuesday informing them that he was well and health but was hiding over fear he was under police radar.
“On behalf of the family of Mr Ndiangui Kinyagia, I wish to inform the Kenyan public as follows: That Mr Ndiangui who went missing last week has contacted the family and that he is well, healthy and safe.
Mr Ndiangui contacted a family member on Tuesday evening from undisclosed location. Mr Ndiangui indicated to the family member that he had hidden temporarily for fear of his life upon learning that DCI officers were looking for him over unknown criminal allegations.
Mr Ndiangui has indicated that he is ready and willing to present himself to the DCI and to be presented before any court of law when his safety and security is guaranteed. We have therefore advised him to present himself before the High Court at Milimani Law Courts today, Thursday the 3rd July 2025 at 11am.
This information has been duly communicated to the Law Society of Kenya for analysis and presentation in court. We wish to remind the public that the DCI broke into his house in his absence and carried away several items and that the family reported the subsequent events at Kinoo Police Station.
The family of Mr Ndiangui wishes to thank all Kenyans both in Kenya and abroad for the support you have accorded them throughout this trying moment. Its our hope and prayer that justice will prevail in this matter.” said Thuku
