A 17-year-old student in Nyamira has mysteriously disappeared after an altercation with his Chemistry teacher as revealed by the family.
Austine Chaku a form four student at Mwongori High School is reported to have gone to the toilet and that was the last time he was seen.
According to the family, the school failed to take prompt action after the incident including not reporting the matter to the police as soon as they noticed he had disappeared.

The boy’s mother Mercy Kwamboka who also filed a report at Matutu Police Station revealed that the school had issued wrong details in regard to the student’s disappearance.
She continued by saying that her child disappeared on May 14th but the school informed them that he went missing on 20th May 2025.
“Tuliambiwa mtoto amepotea on May 20, but vile nimekuja shall, we discovered motto alipotea May 14; so it was not the same May 20 they had told us, alidisappear on May 14 with no trace, the school is not explaining where the child is, so we have been there since yesterday, they are not telling us anything,” she said
The boy’s father also faulted the school administration for failing to report the issue on time as he called on the police to act swiftly.
“Kwa kureport kwa police station sisi ndio wa kwanza kuja kureport hawajareport kua huyu mtoto hayuko, ata sisi wenyewe hatukuambiwa, which is very heartbreaking,” said the boy’s father Cleophas Nchogu
