CS Murkomen terms June 25th protest as an attempted coup
According to the right activists, the CS overstepped his mandate by issuing the order meant to deal with protestors, a statement that could incite people and violates the constitution.
“CS Murkomen has explicitly called on the police to kill Kenyans, falsely claimed that their conduct would be justified under the law and the Constitution, and asserted that the government would defend their unlawful actions,” read the court document
The declaration made by the Interior CS on June 26th was after the Gen Z protest where he said that the law is clear on use of deadly force. He was reacting to destruction caused at a police station where guns were also stolen.
The news was also received well by the public who questioned the performance of the CS who has been accused by other quarters of being incompetent in his docket.
