Political activist Fanya Mambo Kinuthi has issued a warning to Gen Zs in the country not to participate in this year’s Saba Saba protests.
Speaking on Wednesday, Kinuthia noted that this year’s protests is likely to turn into a bloody affair given past experiences surrounding the event.
He continued by predicting a similar situation like that of June 25th where a peaceful process was overtaken by goons leading to the loss of lives of young people in the country.

According to the activists, given the recent events surrounding protests, this year’s Saba Saba protests may see business people hire goons to protect their places of work thus risking the lives of young people.
“I will not tell you if it is worth going to the streets or not, but I will paint a picture of how our streets are going to look: one, there will be innocent Gen Zs with flags and water on the streets; two, there will be a collection of horrible goons brought by politicians, as they are always doing, to come and beat up innocent demonstrators.
The shop owners have decided that enough is enough; they have decided to arm their own. Ask yourself as a young person, Where do you fit in?” he said
Even though Fanya Mambo Kinuthia has been an advocate for better governance and calling for protests, he has made it clear that he will not participate come 7th July as the scene may be bloody.
“I have made a personal decision as Fanya Mambo. I won’t be there, and the reason I won’t be there is that there will be so much blood.
The government has succeeded in making the young people see these protests as violent and keep off, but they have not succeeded in dealing with the reasons that are making them not go to the streets,” he said
