President Yoweri Museveni’s government has formally written to Tanzania government demanding to know the circumstances leading to Agather’s detention.
In the letter, the government of Uganda also seeks permission for their mission staff to visit and talk to Agather Atuhaire following her arrest.

“Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni’s government formally writes to President Samia Suluhu’s Tanzania government asking it to communicate the circumstances of the arrest and detention of its national Agather Atuhaire arbitrarily detained alongside Kenyan national Boniface Mwangi (deported by road and dumped near Kenya-Tanzania border).
Uganda tells Tanzanian authorities to provide information on Agather’s detention and “permission for the mission staff to visit and talk to her, and ascertain the possibility of her release and return to Uganda.” said Kennedy Wandera
