President William Ruto has donated Ksh 1 million to the family of mask vendor Boniface Kariuki who was shot in the head during the Gen Z led protest in June.
Presenting the donation was Kangema MP Peter Irungu Kihungi who condoled with the family on Wednesday.
“On behalf of President William Samoei Ruto, we conveyed his condolences and his commitment to ensuring justice is served. The President also extended a contribution of Ksh 1 million to support the family with funeral arrangements.” he said

The MP was accompanied by fellow legislators who assured the family of their support with the contribution from the President meant to support them during his burial.
Also present during the meeting was a representative from the Interior Ministry who was there to represent Interior PS Raymond Omollo.
The Ministry of Interior has assured the family that they will ensure that justice is served immediately after they received their statement.
“Boniface’s death is a painful reminder of the urgent need for accountability in our security agencies. We will not rest until justice is done,” said the Kangema MP
