Russia has launched the heaviest bombardment, launching drones and missiles on western Ukraine, as confirmed by Ukrainian officials.
One person is reported to have died and several others injured after the attack on Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Lviv areas.
The news comes at a time when President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine suggested Switzerland, Austria, or Turkey as possible countries where peace talks with President Vladimir Putin can take place.

Zelenskyy and Trump hold talks over Russia-Ukraine war
President Donald Trump has ramped up peace talks between the two leaders after meeting with President Putin in Alaska, and then hosting Zelensky and other European leaders in the U.S.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has also offered Budapest as a meditation venue for the two leaders.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary has also been in support of Moscow and even frustrated EU efforts to support Ukraine in the war. This has automatically disqualified it as a neutral ground for talks.
Zelensky has, however, not confirmed the Hungarian offer but called on President Donald Trump to talk to pressure Hungary and allow it to join the EU.
“Trump promised that his team would work on this,” he said.
All eyes are currently on President Donald Trump if he can pull off peace talks between Russia and Ukraine and end the war.
