Suspect in Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were’s murder arrested

Detectives have made a breakthrough in the assassination of Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were by arresting the suspect.

The suspect linked to the murder was arrested in Nairobi on Sunday morning and they also recovered the car suspected to have been used in the mission.

According to the police, the car was used by the suspect and his accomplise which they used to escape from the scene near City Mortuary along Valley Road.

The car in question was captured on camera near Parliament Building, City Hall Way, Wabera Street, Kenyatta Avenue, Jakaya Kikwete Road, Argwings Kodhek Road and Valley Road.

This is the same route that was used by the MP before he was murdered in broad daylight.

His arrest has been welcomed by DCI boss Mohamed Amin who termed it as a breakthrough in the investigation.

It has also been revealed that the suspect was taken through all the stops and to the scene as the detectives called in him to surrender the weapon used, his accomplices and the motorcycle used in the murder.

The murder of MP Charles Ong’ondo Were has seen ODM call out the government, a move that could cause cracks in there broad based agreement.
