Kenyans online have raised questions over an upcoming President’s cup meant to nature grassroot talent.
The new grassroot tournament seeks to nurture football talents just like the Talanta Hela tournament introduced by the Sports CS Ababu Namwamba.
“We will soon launch the President’s Cup to create more avenues for talent development. The tournament will begin at the county level, proceed to the regions, and culminate nationally, where Your Excellency (president William Ruto) will preside, in line with his vision, for sports” said Sports CS Salim Mvurya

Just it has been during the ongoing CHAN tournament, Kenyans have predicted a high cash stake event meant to reward the clubs and players but at what cost?
Some Kenyans are of the opinion that the government might have succeeded to calm those opposed to them by rewarding the players, and so will the same thing work if the cup kicks off.
“Yeaah they realised circuses and food keep the youth distracted so I don’t doubt there will be such an overhyped charade across Kenya,” said Ryota on X
“Someone called it early, they have seen what Chan has done and want to distract Kenyans with handouts, instead of working systems, Kenya Kwisha focuses on PR and redistributing a small % of the money they steal.” said Githu on X
