Police acting on intelligence reports have arrested two suspects trafficking cannabis sativa to Nairobi from Bungoma.
The two were reported by passengers who suspected them that the briefcase they were carrying contained the drug.
“Acting on credible intelligence on 18th October 2025, police officers from Turbo Police Station intercepted a public service vehicle en route to Nairobi from Bungoma. The operation was launched following reports that two passengers on board were carrying a black briefcase suspected to contain cannabis.

Upon conducting a thorough search, officers discovered four brooms of suspected cannabis concealed inside the briefcase.
The two suspects were immediately arrested and are due to appear in court on Tuesday, 21st October 2025.
