A multi-agency team has arrested two people and recovered sandalwood valued at Ksh 5 million in Nyahururu.
Acting on an intelligence report, the team manned the Nyahururu-Rumuruti road where the vehicle with registration number KAX 049C was intercepted.
Upon search, the goods weighing approximately 532 kilograms were recovered and the driver together with his accomplice were arrested.

“In a commendable operation by a multi-agency team in Nyahururu, two suspects have been arrested while transporting sandalwood valued at approximately Sh5 million.
Acting on reliable intelligence, the team sprang into action along the Nyahururu-Rumuruti road, where they successfully intercepted a vehicle bearing the registration number KAX 049C.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered the vehicle was loaded with approximately 532 kilograms of sandalwood.
The driver, Edwin Tenai, along with his accomplice Daniel Makori, was arrested on the spot. They, along with the confiscated sandalwood, have been escorted to the Nyahururu Police Station, where they are currently undergoing processing pending arraignment.
Meanwhile, the seized sandalwood and the vehicle are being securely held as exhibits.
