The ruling party UDA has confirmed the receipt of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s resignation from the party.
Through a statement, UDA extended its appreciation of having the former DP from the party terming him a tribal leader who will never have another shot in the government thanks to the recent impeachment.

The UDA Party took note of the grounds of impeachment in October last year. We moved to the National conference to equally remove the Deputy Party Leader. Your belated resignation is futile, attempt to rewrite the facts of your impeachment and the subsequent removal as the deputy party leader.
You distinguished yourself as the worst bigot to hold such high office in Kenya. I am sure Kenyans will never again have you in such a leadership. Nevertheless your removal, the party has fully turned a leaf to the incoming and youthful leadership as per the choice of the party.
The grounds established by Parliament regarding the impeachment was done further by credence by your inability to implement THE PLAN as the most progressive socio-political and economic architecture of our country.
Those of your likes, believes in medieval ethno-facial class domination of the masses are steady drowning in the deep waters of national rebirth.
As tribal bigot immersed in deep fog of political shortsightedness certainly not appreciate the quiet revolution ending tribe and class to afford the masses dignity as per the dictates of our constitution order.” read the statement by UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar
