President William Ruto has re-appointed Ekwee Ethuro as the chairperson of of the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Through a gazette notice, the Head of State noted that his appointment is for five years and takes effect from September 19, 2023.

“President of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces William Ruto re-appoints Ekwee Ethuro to be the Chairperson of the Higher Education Loans Board, for a period of five years, with effect from the September 19, 2023,” read the gazette notice
The former Speaker come to helm of HELB following his appointment by then President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018. Before then he served as Speaker between the year 2013 and 2017.
In his present role, Ethuro is expected to streamline activities at the parastatal and ensuring that services are accessible to students perusing higher education.
