Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has broken his silence over the injury of his key player Cole Palmer.
Speaking after their 2-1 defeat against Manchester United, Maresca noted that Palmer’s injury was serious and that it was a groin injury.
He continued by saying that despite the injury, the England international requested minutes on Saturday, but the 20 minutes he was on the field were enough for him.

“It’s a problem for a long time for him, his groin,” he said
“Cole was not 100% ready but he wanted to play this game… so the effort is huge but after 20 minutes, he decided it was too much,” he continued.
The Chelsea head coach also confirmed what transpired between him and Garnacho, who was poised to play against his former club.
According to Maresca, Garnacho was scheduled to come in but after Fofana requested to be substituted, he was forced to sideline him.
“We sent him to warm up because the idea was to give Alejandro minutes but Wes Fofana asked to be changed so we decided to go with Malo Gusto,” he said
