Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe released on Ksh 1M cash bail

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Gabriel Kagombe has on Friday been released on Ksh 1 million cash bail with an alternative bond of Ksh 2 million and a surety of the same amount.

This is after the Legislator pleaded not guilty to murder charges he was facing following a recent shooting incident in Makongeni, Thika.

Kagombe is accused of shooting David Nduati Wataha, a boda boda operator who later succumbed to the injury as confirmed by ballistic examination.

On Monday Machakos High Court Judge Francis Olel ordered the MP to undergo a mental examination before he could stand for trial, a requirement that he underwent.

The case will be mentioned again on 17th July, 2024 as confirmed by Justice Olel.
