Gov’t declares Wednesday, 27th May a public holiday to mark Eid ul-Adha

The government through the Interior Ministry has declared Wednesday, 27th May a public holiday to mark Eid ul-Adha.

Issuing the news through the Kenyan gazette, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen noted that the holiday has been declared in accordance to the Public Holidays Act.

Eid ul-Adha, an important public holiday in the Islamic callender signifies the willingness that Ibrahim had to the Lord, to sacrifice his own son. At the end of the festive season, Islams seacrifice a lamb that so significant even in the Bible.

The holiday also goes hand-in-hand with the famous trio to Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah for special prayers among other holy sacrifices.
