Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has denied allegations that he is playing politics in lawyer Brian Mwenda Njagi court case.
Through a statement, the former Governor noted that LSK President Eric Theuri has misled the court with the allegations including that Brian Mwenda was a flight risk.
“Watu wangu, on thursday evening, my good friend, the LSK President, misled the court that I’m just playing politics and want to gain political mileage in the case of lawyer Brian Mwenda.
- Kenya Airways increases flights to New York to five weekly
- Meru residents to give opinion in Mwangaza’s impeachment
- Mike Sonko to present Brian Mwenda Njagi to DCI next week
He further played a video in court and stated that Brian is a flight risk because in the video, I was heard and seen saying I would sponsor Brian for further law studies in London.
I want to clarify to my good friend the LSK President and the court of public opinion that I’m also the Good deeds President in the country, courtesy of the philanthropic work I volunteer to do for the public.
I’ve been involved in these acts of kindness from the very beginning purely out of goodwill and a desire to make a positive impact. It’s not about politics for me. It’s about making the world a better place for all, especially to those who are less privileged in society.” Said Sonko
Sonko noted that the fight for justice for the alleged fake lawyer will not be his last quest as he has done so in the past.
“Promising to bail out comrade Brian Mwenda and fight for his justice to the end will not be the first or last case I’m doing. Let me take you back in time, in reference to similar cases, I successfully handled, which can be used as good study cases in the future.” he said
