Manchester City beat Crystal Palace to mount pressure on Arsenal

Premier League giants Manchester City thrashed Crystal Palace on Sunday to pile pressure on league leaders Arsenal.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring for the visitors in the 41st minute, thanks to a Matheus Nunes’ perfect cross that was well timed by the Norwegian.

Haaland doubled the lead in the 88th minute from the penalty spot after Phil Foden had doubled the lead in the 68th minute, thanks to Rayan Cherki’s assist.

The win leaves Manchester City in second place with 34 points, two behind league leaders Arsenal, who won their Saturday fixture against Wolves.

The win was also Pep Guardiola’s fifth straight win in the Premier League, revealing their intention and hunger for silverware.
