Police lobbed teargas on Sunday at a Nairobi Church after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua attended the service.
Gachagua had attended the service at PCEA Kariobangi North to celebrate David Wanyoike’s win as the Member of the County Assembly when the incident happened.
Videos circulated on social media revealed congregants choking due to the teargas thrown at them, as children scampered for safety in fear of their lives.

It has also been reported that live bullets were used and that some congregants sustained gunshot wounds due to the incident.
Kenyans on social media have condemned the attack, especially since it affected children who they termed innocent and did not deserve such treatment caused by political differences.
