Senator Jackson Mandago and co-accused released on 2 million bond

Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Ndege has released Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago and two co-accused on Ksh 2 million bond or an alternative Ksh 500,000 cash bail.

At the time of arraignment, the fourth accused person is reported to have fled the country thus the court noted that the other suspect will be charged separately once arraigned.

The former Uasin Gishu Governor is accused of defrauding parents Ksh 1.1 billion in Finland education scholarship.

Angry parents postponed their planned protest over the issue citing the visit by President William Ruto who happens to come from the same County.

Speaking after the visit, the Head of State called on justice to the parents and pupils saying that those who are liable should face the law.

EACC has also taken over the case as victims call for justice and above all refund of their money as they had to sell some of their properties and land to carter for the expenses.
