A white smoke was on Thursday seen signaling that the 133 Cardinals have finally elected a new Pope who will soon appear at the central window of St. Peter’s Basilica.

Prior to the news, crowds gathered at St. Peter’s Square to witness the election of the new Pope at the Conclave in what was a historic event.
Black smoke billowed from the chimney above the Sistine Chapel, meaning the 133 Cardinal electors have not yet chosen a new Pope.
