Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina recorded a statement with detectives from DCI following attack by unknown goons.
Accompanying the MP was her legal counsel as she could be seen moving around on her wheelchair caused by the injuries she sustained during the attack.
Njeri Maina was transferred from Nairobi Hospital to Kerugoya Level V Hospital where she had been receiving treatment since Tuesday when the incident happened.

Area residents most of them women thronged at the police station to see the 28-year-old politician as some chanted offering their support to the MP.
Several MP’s visited the MP in hospital after she was admitted wishing her quick recovery and offering their support.
“Together with a section of MPs, we visited Kirinyaga County Women Rep, Hon. Njeri Maina. Hon. Njeri is currently undergoing treatment at the Nairobi hospital after an attack by political goons while inspecting a project in the county.
Hon. Maina is responding well to treatment at the hospital. She recounted to us the ordeals of the unfortunate incident that caused her serious injuries. I thank Doctors at the hospital for the medical attention they have given to our colleague and we wish her a quick recovery.
I reiterate that the National Assembly calls for thorough investigations by Police officers into the matter. We condemn any form of violence to anybody, regardless of their standing in the society.,” said Speaker Moses Wetangula
