Air India plane headed to London with 242 passengers on board has crashed killing more than 250 people shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad .
The incident which has been dubbed as the worst disaster in almost a decade saw the plane crash into a medical college hostel.
Reports confirmed that one passenger survived the accident even though he sustained serious injuries. Speaking after the news, the man revealed how he heard a huge bang shortly after take off.
“Approximately 294 have died. This includes some students as the plane crashed into the building where they were staying,” said Vidhi Chaudhary, a top state police officer.
She continued by revealing the possibility of getting more survivors of the clash.
“Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed,.
