Beatrice Chebet and Faith Kipyegon have on Saturday done the country proud smashing the 5000m and 1500m world records.
The two long and short distance runners were participating at the 50th Prefontaine Classic held at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States.

Chebet broke the world record after crossing the finishing line at 13:58.06 becoming the first woman to go under 14 minutes.
She shuttered the previous record held by Gudaf Tsegay of Ethiopia which stood at 14:00.21.
Faith Kipyegon on the other hand broke her own record that she set finishing at 3:48.68, which represents a .36 seconds difference from the previous record.
The news comes barely a week after she attempted the Nike’s sub-four-minute mile, a race that could have broken the world record.
