“From now on, any citizen from an African country wishing to go to Burkina Faso will not pay any amount to cover visa fees,” he said
Even though the restrictions have been scrapped, African visitors will be required to fill an online visa application which will be reviewed for approval purposes.
Burkina Faso now follows Rwanda, Ghana and Kenya who have lifted visa restrictions to African visitors.
Capt Traoré, a young leader who took power following a coup has been praised by many Africans over his stand to protect the country from the west.
His leadership has caused diplomatic problems with most countries including France and his alliance with Russia has also raised more questions than answers.
