Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen has terminated the contract of Kenya Airports Authority Managing Director Alex Gitari.
In his place will be Henry Ogoye who will occupy the position on acting capacity with immediate effect as revealed on Saturday. Mr. Ogoye is the Head of Corporate Planning at KAA.
“By mutual consent, the contract of Mr Alex Gitari, who has been the managing director of Kenya Airports Authority, has been terminated” said Murkomen

Also terminated was the contract of General Manager Project and Engineering Services Fred Odawo and in his place will be Eng. Samuel Mwochache in an acting capacity.
The news comes hours after the CS made an early morning trip to JKIA in what was a promise to Kenyans following his yesterday’s post he made on social media.
Murkomen had apologized over Friday’s blackout at JKIA something that he said had no excuse even though the whole country had been plunged into darkness causing anger among Kenyans over Kenya Power’s operations.
“I am really sorry for what has happened at JKIA with the blackout. There is no excuse worth reporting and there is no reason why our airport is in darkness. I will be announcing the decision we will make tomorrow 9am at JKIA after a meeting with the leadership of the airport. Once again I am sorry,” said Murkomen
