The government, through the Ministry of Information, officially inaugurated the Cyberweek Africa 2025 summit in Nairobi on Tuesday.
The summit, which is the first on the continent, will take place from 27–31 October 2025 and will tackle issues related to cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“CWA 2025 is the continent’s cybersecurity conference and expo that has brought together industry leaders, experts, academia, and innovators to discuss effective ways of addressing Africa’s digital challenges.

The Conference, themed “Compliance by design,” is a significant and critical meeting for stakeholders to share best practices towards securing Africa’s digital future by embedding trust, ethics, and resilience into Africa’s digital governance.
CWA 2025 is a vital platform for reflecting on diverse ways to build a secure, robust, and resilient digital future,” said CS Kabogo.
Speaking during the event was CS William Kabogo, who said that as a country, the government has embraced safety mechanisms and policies to cushion the country against ‘cyber threats such as data theft, AI-driven intrusion, phishing, and ransomware.’
“Together in unity and collaboration, Africa has what it takes to build an advanced digital ecosystem with impactful digital sovereignty, prioritising cybersecurity as a central pillar of development,” he said
