Detectives uncover explosive devices in Migori ahead of President Ruto’s visit

Detectives have uncovered and removed explosive devices along Nyatike bridge in Migori County ahead of President William Ruto’s visit.

The multi-agency team comprising of Presidential advance team recovered gel explosives and detornating cord measuring about two meters, carefully conceals at the edge of the bridge.

The multi-agency team comprised of DCI detectives,Kenya Police Service, Bomb disposal unit and the Anti-Terrorism unit.

Even though the explosives were successfully detornated without any casualties, preliminary investigations revealed that they may have been planted using a compressor machine.

Preliminary investigation also revealed that they may have been planted months ago before they were taken away for forensic analysis.

Investigation has been launched to establish those behind it and the motive behind it.

The incident comes a day before President William Ruto tours the area where he will be expected to use Nyatike Bridge.
