The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has ordered the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to probe the death of Albert Ojwang and submit a report within seven days.
The DPP also noted that they are closely following on the matter has attracted a huge public uproar calling for justice of the slain teacher and social media influencer.

“In light of the foregoing and pursuant to Article 157(4) of the Constitution, and Section 5 (2) of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, Cap. 6B of the Laws of Kenya, the DPP has directed the IPOA to expedite the said investigations. The resultant investigation file should be submitted to the DPP within 7 days for review and appropriate action.
The ODPP remains committed to executing its constitutional mandate in accordance with the law, public interest, and administration of justice.” said DPP
IPOA had already issued a statement confirming that they are probing the mysterious death, a statement that followed a statement issued by the country’s Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.
