Driver and police officer involved in President William Ruto’s motorcade drama that led to the death of a foreign national has offically been charged.
The police officer identified as Police Constable George Mwangi Maina has been charged with dangerous driving while using the government vehicle along Ngong Road back in March 2025.
According to the charged sheet, the police officer was driving A Toyota Prado on the fateful day of registration numbers GKB 790J/KCY 351H before the accident occurred.
The result of the accident was the demise of Edgar Charles Frederick Riches, a 79-year-old Briton who succumbed to the injuries.
The police officer was however released on Ksh 150,000 cash bail.
