Fire breaks out at Blue Bar in Kabarnet, Baringo County

Baringo County fire department and locals have responded to a fire incident at Blue Bar in Kabarnet, Baringo County.

Confirming the news was the Kenya Red Cross, who are yet to know the cause of the inferno as well as issue an update on the incident.

“The Kenya Red Cross, alongside County Fire Services and the local community, is responding to a fire incident at Blue Bar, opposite National Oil in Kabarnet town, Baringo County. Cause unknown. Updates to follow,” said Kenya Red Cross.

The news comes days after the Kenya Red Cross responded to local clashes in Trans-Mara South, where 1800 people were displaced in three days.

Over 253 households were burnt down, and displaced families were forced to seek shelter in nearby schools and dispensaries.

“Tribal clashes in Angata Barikkoi, Trans Mara South, have displaced over 1,800 people in just three days.

253 households were burnt down, forcing families to seek shelter in schools, dispensaries, and open areas, with some sleeping under trees. Children, women, and persons with disabilities are the most affected, with food stores destroyed by fire.

Kenya Red Cross is on the ground, conducting assessments, providing psychosocial support, and mobilizing further assistance,” said Kenya Red Cross.
