It was business unusual at Sironga Girls High School after a form four student jumped to death from the school hostel.
Confirming the news was the school principal Jane Nyanumba who noted that the student did not exhibit any underlying mental issues thus catching them unaware.
‘’Our girl by the name Mitchell Cheptoo of form four, today morning when other girls were going to take a shower decided to jump from the second floor of the hostel,’’ she said

At the time of the incident, other students were out hanging their clothes but efforts to rush her to Nyamira Level Five turned futile as she was confirmed dead on arrival.
‘’She fell down and hit her head. We took her to Nyamira Level Five where she was confirmed dead on arrival,’’ she continued.
A report from the hospital confirmed that the student succumbed to severe head injuries caused by the fall. Detectives have also commenced investigation into the incident to establish the cause.
According to the area Deputy County Commissioner Florence Obunga, Cheptoo was an introvert and therefore it was had for her to share her problems to anyone.
’She sustained injuries at the back of the head and we are told that she used to keep a lot of things to herself and was kind of an introverted girl.
We have also been able to peruse through her books and we have not been able to find any note that might have indicated her intention and as security officers, we will investigate the matter to find out what might have happened,’’ said Florence Obunga
