DCI detectives have arrested former Mathioya MP, Francis Njakwe for allegedly defrauding a couple Ksh 6.4 million in land fraiud case.
The couple were approached by the former MP who agreed to sell and construct on the piece of land at a cost of Ksh 40 million.
After depositing Ksh 6.4 million with the former MP, they overheard a conversation that the said piece of land had other interested parties and court cases prompting a move to the detectives for assistance.

“The couple entered into an agreement with Githiari for the purchase of a parcel of land in Ngong, which was to be developed into a double-storey house. In this arrangement, Githiari, who also identified himself as a contractor, was responsible for both selling the land and constructing the residence.
The total cost for the land and construction was set at Sh40 million, payable in instalments. The couple promptly deposited Sh6.4 million into Githiari’s account as part of the payment.
However, during routine visits to the construction site, the couple overheard disturbing news: claims of ownership issues regarding the land had emerged, with other parties reportedly filing a case to assert their ownership. This revelation raised serious red flags, prompting the couple to halt any further payments,” said DCI
The files on the case were transfered to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) who recommended prosecution of Francis Njakwe Githiari for the offence of obtaining money by false pretences, contrary to Section 313 of the Penal Code.
“Today, justice took its course as Githiari was arrested at his residence in Karen. He is currently undergoing processing and is expected to be arraigned before the Milimani Law Courts tomorrow, May 15, 2026,” said DCI
