Former world boxing champion and British boxer Ricky Hatton died on Sunday at the age of 46.
Confirming the news was the spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, who said that the police were called to Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, where a body of a 46-year-old man was found.
“Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6:45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances,” said the spokesperson.

Hatton, who was also well known as the Hitman, dominated both lightweight and heavyweight competitions and taught the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, and Kostya Tszyu.
Until his defeat in 2007 to Floyd Mayweather, Hatton recorded 43 victories and no defeats before his retirement in 2012 with a record of 45 wins and 3 defeats.
The British boxer recently revealed his struggle with alcohol, drugs, and depression, even though he was set to return to the ring on 2nd December against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai.
Mourning the late boxer was Manchester City, which recognized him as their die-hard supporter.
“Ricky was one of City’s most loved and revered supporters, who will always be remembered for a glittering boxing career that saw him win world titles at welterweight and light-welterweight.
