Veteran radio presenter Fred Obachi Machoka has issued a 48 hours ultimatum to Nairobi MCA Robert Aai to issue a public apology.
This follows malicious and false statement made by the MCA on his Facebook page about the veteran broadcaster about his health.
Through lawyer Danstan Omari, Machoka has called on Alai to retract the statement and issue a public apology failure to which he will undertake legal action against him.
“These statements are categorically false, unsubstantiated, and were disseminated with clear malice aforethought. They have caused irreparable harm to our client’s reputation in both his personal and professional capacities,” read the demand letter from Lawyer Danstan Omari
Alai made the alleged statement on May 3rd after the two engaged in an online clash over Machoka’s support for former CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
“I feel your ethnic rage. It’s just ethnic. Your problem is the supply of ARVs not Presidency. Democracy also entails me telling you that. Where is the insult in saying the things Matiang’i did? Does HIV bring insanity nowadays?” read the statement by Alai
According to Machoka, the statement has tainted his image and dragged him to public scrutiny and ridicule given Alai’s huge following on social media.
