The country’s free education is at the risk of coming to an end bringing to a halt a service that has been in force for over 20 years now.
The news follows revelation that the government owes schools over Ksh 60 billion making it hard to sustain the program in the long run.

Appearing before Parliament’s Education Committee, Education CS Julius Ogamba was quizzed to reveal as to whether the free education was being done away by the government.
In his defense, he blamed parliament for failing to approve special budgets that would have sustained the education sector.
The news has since angered many Kenyans who have in turn accused the government of being intentional with sabotaging programs that have existed and useful to many Kenyans.
This follows previous and ongoing blame over failing health sector following the roll out of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
