Huawei inks deal with gov’t to digitize pubic sector

Huawei has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government to advance digital skills and build ICT facilities in the public service.

“The Kenya School of Government and Huawei Kenya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in advancing digital skills development and ICT capacity building for Kenya’s public service.

As KSG marks 100 years of excellence in public service training, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a future-ready, digitally empowered public sector,” said Huawei

According to the Chinese company, they will work with KSG on ‘joint training programmes, research collaboration, and technical knowledge exchange’ and most importantly on emerging technologies such as AI.

“Through this collaboration, Huawei Kenya and KSG will work together on joint training programmes, research collaboration, and technical knowledge exchange, with a strong focus on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. The initiative will also support industry-aligned certification programmes aimed at equipping public servants and technical staff with advanced digital competencies.

The partnership aligns with Kenya’s digital transformation agenda and reinforces the role of technology and innovation in enhancing efficient public service delivery,” read the statement
