Justice Mohamed Warsame was nominated on Wednesday by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to fill the Supreme Court vacancy.
Confirming his nomination was Chief Justice Martha Koome, and the next step will see his name forwarded to President William Ruto, who will officially appoint him.
“I am therefore pleased to announce that the Judicial Service Commission has nominated the Honourable Mr Justice Mohamed Abdullahi Wasame for appointment to the Supreme Court of Kenya,” said CJ Martha Koome.
Before his nomination, Justice Warsame worked at the High Court’s Commercial Division and Criminal Division, and also at the Judicial Review Division of the High Court. Since 2012, he has been serving at the Court of Appeal.
