Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association Official Facebook Page Hacked

The official Facebook page of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association (KYPA) has been hacked by unknown individuals.

KYPA through a statement called on members of the public to help them recover their account and also warned people against engaging with the page at the moment.

“KYPA’s official Facebook page has been hacked! Please help us by reporting it. Do not engage with the page,” they said

On 16th July, KYPA CEO Anthony Buluma Samba revealed that their account had been compromised.

“The Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association (KYPA) is deeply disturbed by the inappropriate and misleading content currently being posted on a Facebook page that previously represented our Association.

We wish to inform the public that this page was hacked in mid-2024 and is no longer under the control or management of KYPA. Despite this, it continues to unlawfully use our official logos and branding to disseminate false, damaging, and inappropriate material,” he said

Buluma continued by saying that the incident has already been reported to the police as they pursue ways of recovering it.

“This matter has been formally reported to the relevant authorities, and we are actively pursuing the necessary legal and technical steps to resolve it. We appreciate your understanding and continued support,” he said
