A Kenyan lawyer identified as 29-year-old Fredrick Lorent Obuya has reportedly been arrested in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Fredrick, who also runs a tour company, was allegedly arrested on 31st October on his way back to Zanzibar after completing his work.

Obuya, who also runs a tour company, was travelling to Zanzibar for work when he was detained on 31st October 2025. His last known location was Oyster Bay Police Station, and his whereabouts remain unknown,” said Cyprian is Nyakundi
“29-year-old Fredrick is a lawyer and runs a tour company. According to his friends, he was on his way to Zanzibar on a work-related trip when he was arrested. His last known location was Oyster Bay Police Station,” said Hussein Khalid.
The news comes at a time when Kenyans have raised an alarm over the ongoing crackdown on foreigners after the disputed elections.
Authorities in Tanzania are reported to be targeting foreigners, accusing them of leading the protests that saw the deaths of civilians.
Even though the number of fatalities has not yet been confirmed, unverified videos revealed the inhumane treatment protesters faced during the protest.
