Hannington Juma Raburu, an engineer based in Kisumu committed suicide after he was billed Ksh 300 million by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
The 68-year-old arrived at the parking of Lake Basin Mall on Thursday before handing over the keys to his V8 Land Cruiser to the askari with clear instructions to hand them over to his son.
He then proceeded to the building’s second floor where he jumped sustaining serious injuries. He was confirmed dead at Aga Khan hospital after he was taken in for treatment.

Hannington, the managing director of Gogni Rajope Construction Company is reported to have unpaid debts from government contracts totaling to Ksh 150 billion.
Kenyans have since blammed KRA over the engineer’s death accusing them of driving him to death over the fines they had slapped on him.
They called on the government agency to take it easy on businesses and business people if businesses are to survive in the country.
