The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has ordered the closure of Chiromo Hospital Braeside Branch located in Lavington, Nairobi.
The order follows the death of Toto Touch CEO Susan Kamengere Njoki whose demise has been linked to a staff member of the hospital.
Health CS Aden Duale has issued a letter calling for the suspension of clinical service at the facility.

The CS further called for the transfer of all patients at the hospital 24 hours after receiving the letter dated 25th July 2025.
“The above captioned subject, our letter referenced Ref: KMPDC/DEC.GEN/2025/21 and the Council inspection of your facility on 18th July, refer. Following further reports indicating the possible involvement of a member of your staff in the death of Ms. Susan Kamengere Njoki, the Council issues the following directives effective immediately,” read the statement
According to KMPDC, Chriomo Hospital should provide a post-mortem report, all reports regarding the patient, and steps to be taken to prevent such an incident from happening in the future.
