Unconfirmed reports have emerged that several people are missing in Mukuru kwa Njenga, Nairobi, following the heavy downpour experienced in the City.
Rising water levels have been confirmed along Mombasa Road, resulting in floods as the Kenya Red Cross, Nairobi teams moved in to assess the situation.
“Following a heavy downpour, rising water levels have been reported along Mombasa Road (Eastern Bypass), resulting in flooding.

In Mukuru kwa Njenga, there are unconfirmed reports of missing persons and marooned households. Kenya Red Cross, Nairobi teams are en route for assessment and possible response,” said Kenya Red Cross
Flash floods were also reported near T-Mall along Lang’ata Road, where a vehicle with occupants inside was trapped in a ditch.
Other cases of flooding were also reported in Kajiado, along Magadi Road, in Moyale, and Marsabit Counties.
