Interior CS Kipchumba has on Monday broken his silence over the days incident where residents of Ang’ata Barrikoi, Narok protested over alleged grabbed land.
Speaking to the media, the CS promised investigation into the incident and that those responsible for the deaths and incitement will be held to account.

He also confirmed that security has been beefed up in the area promising residents that no one will take their land illegally.
“I wish to extend a message of heartfelt condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives today during the skirmishes that ensued in Ang’ata Barrikoi over a disagreement stemming from land demarcation exercise.
I regret that the situation led to needless loss of lives and injuries both to the police and civilians. Investigations are ongoing to establish the number of deaths, the people responsible for the deaths and those who instigated the tension.
Security has been beefed up in the area and we appeal for calm and restraint. The government is committed to protecting lives and property of every citizen and no one can take away their property illegally.” he said
The news comes hours after five people were killed and several others injured following the chaos after residents claimed that a senior government official wants to grab 10,000 acres of land, land that the have called home for over 30 years.
