The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court has fined a Nairobi Water employee Ksh 8.5 million after he was found guilty of using a fake KCSE certificate to secure employment.
“The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court has fined Felix Ojwang Balamu, an employee of the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC), a total of Kes8.5 million after he was found guilty of using a forged KCSE certificate to secure employment.

Investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) revealed that Balamu used a fake academic certificate purporting it to be genuine from KNEC to obtain his job in 2011,” said EACC
Felix was charged with three counts of fraudulent acquisition of public property worth Ksh 8.24 million, deceiving a principal, and presenting a forged certificate.
“Hon. Selesa Okore, delivering judgment on October 10, 2025, fined Balamu the equivalent amount of his unlawfully earned salary and additional penalties totaling Kes8,543,562, or 4 years in prison in default.
This judgment reaffirms EACC’s commitment to protecting public resources and upholding integrity in public service,” said EACC
