A petition has been filed before Milimani Law court to prevent the arrest of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to the petitioner activist George Mogire, any arrest of the former Deputy President will be politically motivated and thus the IG, DPPP and NCIC should refrain from arresting him.

The activist continued by saying that any arrest of Rigathi Gachagua will not be backed by any evidence of criminal undertaking but rather due to the current political landscape in the country.
“Pending the hearing and determination of this application, this Honourable Court should issue conservatory orders restraining the respondents and their agents from arresting, detaining, or interfering with Gachagua’s liberty,” read the petition
The petition gave an example of a recent move by the parliament where a section of legislators called for his arrest following his remarks during an interview.
