A police officer in Bungoma accidently discharged a round of ammunition, injuring three civilians and himself.
All victims were rushed to the hospital and are currently in fair condition as confirmed by DCI.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) acknowledges an incident that occurred today at approximately 10:50 am at the Bungoma Law Court. During this incident, one of our officers, PC Cornellious Murey, accidentally discharged a round of ammunition from his Ceska pistol.

The ricochet resulted in minor injuries to several individuals, including a prison officer who sustained an injury to the chin, three civilians and the DCI officer himself.
We are relieved to report that all victims were promptly taken to a medical facility and are in fair condition.
The DCI is collaborating with IPOA and the Judiciary in the investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the discharge of the firearm.
