Police raid residence of former President Uhuru’s son Jomo

Police have raided the residence of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jomo Kenyatta in Karen, Nairobi.

According to the news, the police are said to have raided the home to search for any weapons Jomo maybe holding.

“Dozens of Police Officers have raided the residence of former Pres. Uhuru Kenyatta’s eldest son Jomo in Karen and are currently carrying out a search to establish if he is in possession of any weapons including firearms. Pr. Uhuru is headed there NOW,” said Philip Etale

The news comes barely days after security detail of Kenya’s First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta was withdrawn by the government.

The first family opted for private security before security was restored amid continued arrest targeting members of the opposition.

On Friday, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was released on Ksh 100,000 cash bail following his dramatic arrest on Tuesday at JKIA, Nairobi.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has called for the release of his bodyguard Maurice Ogtta whose whereabouts still remain unknown.

The High Court has issued an order to IG Japheth Koome to produce Ogeta in any court in the country.
