Probe launched into death of female KDF officer in Migori

Police have launched investigation into the death of a female KDF officer in Nyahera village, Suna East, Migori county.

The female KDF officer identified as Second Lieutenant Cynthia Awour Mboya was found dead at her matrimonial house in the early hours of Christmas day.

At the time of her demise, 28-year-old Cynthia was attached to Gilgil Barracks and was at home on a pass leave as revealed.

Police are currently holding her husband for questioning even though she was alone at the time of the incident.

It has also been revealed that when the police arrived at the house, they found the lifeless body of Cynthia lying in a pool of blood.

Preliminary investigation revealed that her body had cut wounds and signs of strangulation suggesting that she struggled before meeting her death.

According to the husband, she arrived home at 1 am and found the house windows open before proceeding to the bedroom where she found her wife lying on the floor.

Police who arrived at the scene confirmed that her two phonesa Samsung and a Tecno Camon 12 Pro were missing.

Cynthia’s body was moved to Migori County Referral Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
