Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is mourning the death of Kasipul MP Charles Were who was gunned down by unknown people in Nairobi.
According to Raila, the Kasipul MP was a gallant son of the soil who was killed mercilessly and in cold blood by assasins.
“We have lost a gallant son of the soil! Hon Charles Ong’ondo Were is no more; mercilessly and in cold blood, gunned down by an assassin in Nairobi this evening. Rest in Peace Hon Sir Charles Ong’ondo Were!” he said
MP Charles Were was gunned down at around 7:30 pm on Ngong Road by a paasenger who was on a motorcycle after he left Parliament as revealed interior PS Raymond Omollo.
“The MP left Parliament a few minutes around 7 and the actual shooting happened at around 7:30 on Ngong Road by a passenger on a motorcycle. We are yet to establish the exact identity of the person.
The driver and the bodyguard brought the late to Nairobi Hospital. It appears that this assailant was trailing the car from town.” said the PS
Investigations into the MPs death is currently under investigation so as to establish the motive behind those involved.
